Ingredients
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 onion
- 2 bunches broccoli
- 3 qt. chicken broth
- 1 qt. half & half
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 2-3 bay leaves
- salt & pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
1. Melt butter adn saute onions for 3 minutes. Add flour. Stir over low heat for 5 minutes.
2. In a separate pot, heat chicken broth with chopped broccoli.
3. Slowly add broth and broccoli to flour and butter mixture. Bring to boil and reduce to simmer for 20 minutes.
4. Add half & half and simmer another 20 minutes.
