French Onion Soup Casserole

  • 2-3 T BUTTER
  • 3 LARGE SWEET ONIONS
  • 2 C SHREDDED SWISS CHEESE
  • 1 CAN CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP
  • 2/3 C MILK
  • 1 t SOY SAUCE
  • 8 SLICES FRENCH BREAD

Preparation

Step 1

SLICE ONIONS.MELT BUTTER AND SAUTE ONIONS.
IN SHALLOW CASSERLOE DISH, LAYER ONIONS, 2/3 CHEESE, AND PEPPER TO TASTE.
IN SAUCE PAN HEAT SOUP, MILK, AND SOY SAUCE. POUR SOUP OVER ONIONS STIRING GENTLY.TOP WITH BREAD SLICES.
BAKE AT 350* 15 MINUTES. PUSH BREAD SLICES UNDER THE SAUCE AND TOP WITH REMAINING CHEESE. PLACE CASSEROLE BACK IN OVEN AND FINISH BAKING FOR 15 MINUTES.
