Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. fresh blackberries
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/4 t. salt
- 3/4 c. whole milk
- 2 T. unsalted butter, melted
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375º. Put berries in an ungreased 5 – 6 cup gratin dish or deep-dish glass or ceramic pie plate and sprinkle evenly with ¾ c. sugar. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar into a bowl. Add milk and butter and whisk until smooth. Pour over berries. Bake in middle of oven until golden, 40 – 45 minutes. Transfer to rack and cool 20 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream. Serves 4 – 6.
