SWEET MOIST CORNBREAD HAVEN'T MADE THIS FOR YEARS

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 YELLOW CORNMEAL
  • 3/4 C SIFTED FLOUR
  • 1/3 C SUGAR
  • 3 TSP BAKING POWDER
  • 1/2 TSP SALT
  • 1/2 TSP CINNAMON
  • 1 EGG
  • 3/4 C MILK
  • 3/4 C SWEETENED APPLESAUCE
  • 1/4 C MELTED MARGARINE

Preparation

Step 1

PREHEAT TO 425 DEGREES. SIFT ALL DRY INGREDIENTS IN LARGE BOWL. ADD WET BEAT WITH ELECTRIC MIXER TILL SMOOTH ABOUT 1 MINUTE.

BAKE IN GREASED 8 INCH SQUARE PAN FOR 20-25 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND TEST FOR DONENESS.

SERVE WARM.
