Ingredients
- 1 t. olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 cup red wine OR 2T balsamic vinegar (we use the vinegar)
- 1 T sugar or sweet and low equivalent
- 1 T chopped fresh basil or 2 t. dried basil
- 2 T tomato pasted
- 1/2 t. Italian seasoning (any kind or mix will do)
- 1/4 t. black pepper
- 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
- 2 T chopped fresh parsley
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil on medium high heat; sauté onion and garlic 5 minutes.
Stir in all other ingredients except parsley; bring to boil reduce heat and cook uncovered for 15 minutes.
Stir in parsley and serve.
