Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pinch of pepper
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups macaroni
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
Preparation
Step 1
Sauté onions in butter until tender. Stir in flour and seasonings. Cook and stir 1 minute. Add milk and keep stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat. Add cheese, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Stir until smooth.
Meanwhile cook macaroni according to cooking instructions. Add to sauce. Turn into buttered casserole and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake 375° for 20 minutes.
