Banana Split Dessert (mom's recipe)

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1-1/3 sticks of butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lg can crushed pineapple
  • 5 to 7 bananas, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1 (8-10oz) container Cool Whip
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • Maraschino cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Combine graham cracker crumbs with 1-1/3 sticks of melted butter. Press into 9x13" cake pan and refrigerate.

Combine and mix for 20 minutes, powdered sugar, soft butter, vanilla and eggs. Pour over graham cracker crust and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

While dessert is in the refrigerator, drain the pineapple well. Spread pineapple over mixture in pan. Place the banana slices over the pineapple (close together). Spread the Cool Whip over the bananas and sprinkle with the ground walnuts. Place cherry on each piece to be cut.
