Cherry Thumbprints

Ingredients

  • ◦1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • ◦1 cup sugar
  • ◦2 eggs
  • ◦1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ◦2 1/2 cups flour
  • ◦Dash of salt
  • ◦1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ◦1 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

1.Cream together butter and sugar. Add in eggs one at a time while mixing. Add almond extract and beat until smooth.
2.In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Mix together and then add slowly to the wet ingredients until well mixed.
3.Using a 1 inch cookie dough scoop, make 24 (1-inch) cookie balls. Using a thumb or spoon, make a deep impression in each cookie, being careful not to press through the cookie.
4.Fill each cookie with a small spoonful of cherry pie filling.
5.Bake on 350 for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
