- 8 c sliced and peeled granny smith Apples
- 2 1/2 c packed brown sugar, divided
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 c butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 c all purpose flour
- 1 c finely chopped walnuts, divided
Preparation
Step 1
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
Place apples in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the cinnamon.
In a bowl, cream butter and remaining brown sugar. Add eggs.
Stir in flour and 1/2 cup walnuts.
Spread over apples.
Sprinkle with the remaining walnuts. I also sprinkled with a tablespoon of granulated sugar.
Bake for 45 - 55 minutes or until the apples are tender.
Serve with ice cream
