Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Great recipe, but I add 1 additional cup of macaroni, as there is a lot of sauce. I also sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

Ingredients
- 4 cups (340 g) CATELLI® Ready Cut Macaroni 750 mL
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine 50 mL
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour 50 mL
- 3 cups warm 1% milk 750 mL
- 3 cups shredded old cheddar cheese* 750 mL
- extra shredded cheddar cheese for on top
Preparation
Step 1
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions.
2. Melt butter in a pot set over medium heat. Add flour; cook, stirring, for 3 to 4 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk; cook, stirring constantly, until just thickened.
3. Season to taste with salt. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted.
4. Add hot macaroni and toss to coat.
*substitute reduced fat cheddar cheese, if desired
