Cabbage Rolls

  • 1 large cabbage
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Remove core from cabbage; place whole cabbage in large saucepan. Pour boiling water around cabbage to 3/4 depth. Simmer gently 5 - 10 minutes, carefully separate leaves.

2. In large bowl combine meat, rice, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper and paprika.

3. Place 2 tablespoons of this mixture on each cabbage leaf. Fold in sides and roll up.

4. Arrange rolls in large baking dish, pour tomatoes over and sprinkle with remaining salt.

5. Cover and bake at 300F for 2 hours until cabbage is tender.
