Caramel popcorn

Ingredients

  • 8-10 cups popped corn
  • 2 c. sugar
  • ½ c. mild molasses
  • 4 T. vinegar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 6 T. water
  • shake of salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients except baking soda in pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until between soft and hard crack stage (295 degrees on candy thermometer)

Stir in baking soda. Mixture will foam up. Pour over popped corn and stir well. Put onto wax paper to cool or immediately form into balls.
