Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 c self rising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 1/3 c shortening
  • 1/4 c grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1/4 stick butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together with a fork. Cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal. Add cheese and stir in buttermilk all at one time, just until blended. Do not over stir.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a well-greased cookie sheet, brush with melted butter and bake for 12-15 minutes.
