Creamed/Baked Carrots & Cheese

Carrots and cheese layered casserole

Ingredients

  • Carrots (enough that sliced fill the casserole dish of your choice)
  • American cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Bread crumbs
  • Dry mustard (1t)
  • Onion flakes (1t)
  • Flour (1T)
  • Milk (1-2 cups)
  • Margarine (1T)

Preparation

Step 1

Slice and precook carrots (may steam in microwavable dish)
Shred or slice American cheese
Shred or slice cheddar cheese

Repeat as layers in casserole until full: carrots, American cheese, cheddar cheese

White sauce: Melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion flakes, dry mustard, and milk. Stir in flour and stir over heat until blended.

Pour white sauce over the carrot and cheese layers.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
