Strawberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 quart strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 T cornstarch
  • ½ cup water
  • Sprinkle of salt
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 1 baked pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Sort berries into two parts. Mash the less perfect ones; add cornstarch mixed with water. Cook over low heat, stirring until thick and clear.

Remove from heat; add sugar, butter, salt and lemon juice

When mixture is cold, add remaining berries which have been cut in half. Stir carefully to blend. Place in pastry shell and garnish with whipped cream
