Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni
  • 4 T. butter
  • 4 T. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. paprika
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1/2 t. dry mustard
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup colby jack
  • buttered bread crumbs

Preparation

Step 1

Cook macaroni according to package. In large saucepan melt butter. Add flour mixed with spices and stir until well blended. Pour milk and cream gradually stirring constantly. Bring to boiling point and boil 2 minutes stirring constantly. Reduce heat and cook 10 minutes. Add cheeses a little at a time until cheese melts. Add macaroni and coat with cheese sauce. Transfer to buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake 20-30 minutes until golden brown in 400 degree oven.
