Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- Monterrey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp. garlic
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 20 Flour tortillas
- Vegetable oil
- toothpicks
Preparation
Step 1
Brown pork in a skillet, then drain fat. Add salt, pepper, garlic, and cumin, plus 1/2 cup water. Cook until water is gone, and remove from skillet into a bowl. Saute onion and bell pepper in 1-2 tbsp of butter until soft. Set aside also.
Take flour tortillas and place about 2 tbs meat, 1 tbs onion mixture, 2 tbs cheese in the middle. Fold each side over, then roll up like and egg roll. Secure with a tooth pick broken in half.
Heat bout 1-1/2 inches of oil in deep skillet to about 350 degrees. Place pork rolls, seam side down, in hot oil, 4-5 at a time. When golden brown, turn and brown the other side. Place on paper towels to drain.
Remove toothpicks and serve with picante sauce.
