Ingredients
- 2 (28 oz) cans tomato puree - Muir Glen is best
- 1 (28 oz) cans peeled plum tomatoes - San Marzano is preferred
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small onion diced
- 1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 2 tblsp sugar
- 1/4 c. grated cheese
Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot, saute onion & garlic in olive oil
Empty plum tomatoes into large bowl & squash with your hands
Add all ingredients including any meatballs or sausage you want to add and simmer
for 3 hours
