Cheeseburger Pasta

Ingredients

  • whole wheat penne pasta 1 1/2 cupss uncooked
  • ground beef 3/4 pound lean , 90% lean
  • onions 2 tablespoons finely chopped
  • tomatoes diced 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can no salt added
  • pickle relish 2 tablespoons dill
  • yellow mustard 2 tablespoons
  • ketchup 2 tablespoons
  • steak seasoning 1 teaspoon
  • seasoned salt 1/4 teaspoon
  • cheddar cheese 3/4 cup reduced-fat
  • green onion chopped , optional

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink drain.
Drain pasta add to meat mixture.
Stir in the tomatoes, relish, mustard, ketchup, steak seasoning and seasoned salt.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Remove from the heat cover and let stand until cheese is melted.
Garnish with green onions if desired. Yield: 4 servings.
