Ingredients
- 3 cups large macaroni noodles (12oz)
- 8 oz medium cheddar cheese
- 1 (12 oz) can 2% evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Preparation
Step 1
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add macaroni noodles and cook. Meanwhile, grate cheese. Once noodles are done, drain and set aside. Turn heat down to medium low. In the pot, add milk and cornstarch. Wisk together to get rid of any lumps. Continue whisking until sauce begins to thicken (about 2-5 min). Add cheese and stir until everything is melted together. Add noodles. Don’t have cornstarch? Feel free to use butter and flour for a thickener. Once you take the noodles out of the pot, melt 1 tbsp butter then add 2 tbsp flour. Stir it all around to get a paste and cook about a minute to get rid of the raw flour taste. Next, SLOWLY whisk in the milk and continue whisking until sauce begins to thicken. Add cheese, then noodles.
