APPLE, RAISIN OATMEAL COOKIES

  • 3/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cups Quaker Oats with Apple, Raisin and Spice (or substitute 3 cups of Quaker Oats with Raisin and Cinnamon)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 305 degrees

Beat together margarine and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt alternately with water; mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake 12 - 14 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack.
