Coconut Pecan Frosting for German Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/1 /2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 Cups (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 1 7oz. pkg coconut (2 2/3 cups)

Preparation

Step 1

Beat egg yolks, milk and vanilla in a saucepan until well blended.

Cook on medium heat for 12 minutes or until thickened and medium brown stirring constantly.

Remove from heat.

Add coconut and pecans, cool.
