Tuna Ring

This recipe has been a stapel in my family growing up, and now for me as a mother. Men of the house have always loved it. Most of the ingredients are things i almost always have on hand, and its definitly LOW cost! If your feeding your family on a budget its a must try!

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c snipped parsley
  • 2 cans tuna
  • 1 t. celery salt
  • 1/2 c chopped onion
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1/2 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 c Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/2 c cold water
  • cheese sauce
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 2 c milk
  • 1/4 c Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 c shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 t salt, pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375. Beat egg slightly;set aside 2 T of the egg. Stir tuna, onion, cneese, parsley, celery salt and pepper into remaining egg. Stir baking mix and water to a soft dough; knead 5 times on floured board.
Roll into rectangle 15x10 inches. Spread with tuna mixture. Roll up, beginning at long side. With sealed edge down, shape into ring on greased baking sheet; pinch ends together. With scissors or sharp knife, make cuts 2/3 of the way through ring at 1 inch intervals. Turn each section on its side to show filling. brush top with reserved egg. Bake 25-30 minutes Serve with hot cheese sauce. Recipe follows for sauce.


Cheese Sauce directions

Melt butter over low heat: Blend in baking mix, slat, pepper, Cook over low heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat;, stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. stir in cheese until melted.
