Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons butter
- 1 pound quartered tomatoes
- 2 pounds washed, trimmed, and sliced okra
- 1 minced yellow or red onion
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 2 Tablespoons fresh chopped basil
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
Preparation
Step 1
Melt the butter, then add all the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until the okra is tender, about 20 minutes. Mash the tomatoes a bit, now and then, to release juice.
