Rum Sauce for Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2-3 Tbsp. rum
  • dash of nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

In double boiler, mix butter, sugar, and heavy cream. Stir for 10-15 minutes or until slightly thick.
Refrigerate until serving. Prior to serving, add nutmeg, vanilla, and rum. Reheat.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
