Creamy Bacon Parmesan Dip
By MichelleF
Buns In My Oven, modified ~ This was a hit with 7 teenage boys & the hubby! I had enough bacon grease that I didn’t need any butter for the onions. I actually prefer to always chop up the bacon before cooking it in my recipes. This doesn’t make a lot, so you might want to double the recipe & adjust the cooking time if you're feeding a crowd. Even though we had so many boys, everyone really just had a few bites before it was gone!
Ingredients
- 5 slices center cut bacon, or 4 regular slices
- 1/2 cup chopped sweet onions
- 1 TB butter, if needed
- 8 oz block regular cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Cook bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble. Add onions to the bacon grease & cook over medium heat until softened & starting to brown, about 5-10 minutes. Add butter, if needed. In a medium bowl, combine bacon, onions, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, & pepper. Stir until well combined. Spread cheese mixture into a greased 7 x 9 baking dish or a similar size small dish. Bake for 15 minutes. Serve with crackers or chips.
