Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots chopped
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 3 sprigs parsley
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups cooked chicken
  • 1 tablespoon kosjer salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sherry

Preparation

Step 1

Salute the onions in t butter in a large soup pot
after 5 minutes add the celery and carrots
when they are soft, add the flour and cook for several minutes
add the chicken broth a little at a time,
then add the parsley, thyme, and bay leaf
all wrapped up with time so you can fish it our later
add the chicken, salt pepper and noodles
cook for 10 minutes or until the oodles are done
fish out the herbs and then add the heavy cream and sherry
