Ingredients
- 2 c. elbow macaroni
- 1 T. salt
- 4 oz. Kraft sharp cheddar cheese
- 6 oz. or 8 slices American cheese
- 3 T. margarine
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. pasteurized milk
- salt and pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Cook macaroni until well done. Drain, cover bottom of baking dish with macaroni, top with cheese, sharp and American. Salt and pepper to taste. Continue the same with the next layer until all macaroni is gone. Top off with cheese. Pour milk over casserole, with margarine on the top.
To save a lot of time, put in a microwave and cook on high for about 5 minutes. Move to conventional oven and bake at 350° until done. Option: You can make entire dish in the microwave, just be sure that your macaroni has been cooked well.
