Banana Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cooled pie shell
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 eggs yolks beaten
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 4 bananas sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

-In a sauce pan combine sugar, flour and salt
-Add milk gradually while stirring
-Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture bubbles. Keep stirring for 2 more minutes.
-Remove from heat
-Add a small amount of mixture to the egg yolks and immediately add back to the custard mixture.
-Cook for 2 more minutes stirring constantly
-Remove from stove and add butter and vanilla.
-Stir until smooth
-Slice bananas into the pie shell
Top with pudding mixture
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Add meringe if you want
