Beer-Battered Fried California Avocado Wedges

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Lager beer or ale
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Paprika
  • 6 Garlic, large cloves chopped finely
  • 3 lbs. California Avocados
  • As needed Vegetable oil - as needed for deep frying
  • As needed Salt - as needed
  • 3 cups Salsa

Preparation

Step 1

1. To make beer batter, whisk together beer, flour, paprika and garlic until well blended; let stand at least 2 hours.

2. Peel and cut half an avocado into 6 wedges. Dredge each wedge in reserved beer batter. Deep fry in 375°F oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain well; season with salt. Serve with 1/4 cup salsa.
