Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 cup butter/margarine softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • Orange rind
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients onto paper. Beat butter, sugar and egg yolks until light and fluffy. Add orange rind. Beat in flour alternately with orange juice beginning and ending with flour. Spoon into prepare bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

ORANGE GLAZE:
Combine 1/4 cup orange juice with 1/4 cup sugar and heat until bubbly. Simmer until slightly thick, stirring frequently. Brush on warm cake.
