Ingredients
- 1 227g dates
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cups butter, melted
Preparation
Step 1
Combine dates and water. Bring to boil over medium heat, simmer, stirring occasionally for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Remove. Stir in vanilla. Let cool
Combine oats, flour, sugar, soda and salt. Mix well. Stir in melted butter to resemble coarse crumbs. press half of mixture in greased 9" square pan. Spread with date mixture and top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
