Apple Nut Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 large apple, chopped
  • Topping:
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl beat together sugar and butter until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until mixed well. Stir in about 1/2 of the flour mixture. into the sugar mixture. Stir in the sour cream. Stir in rest of flour mix and stir in chopped apple. Spread evenly in greased pan.

Mix brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon with your hands. Add chapped nuts (optional). Spread mixture over batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean).
