Apple Cobbler

Ingredients

  • TOPPING:
  • 12 medium sized granny smith apples, poached and thinly sliced
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 6 tbsp. flour
  • 4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 12 tbsp. butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Toss sliced apples with lemon juice to coat well. Add sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, flour, and spices. Stir until mixture is well blended.

In a food processor, combine topping ingredients. Pulse until mixture is crumbly. You can also use a pastry blender or fork to cut this mixture together.

Pour apple mixture into 13" x 9" baking dish. Sprinkle topping mix evenly over top.

Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is browned.
