Ingredients
- 2 pounds stewing beef
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 pounds onion, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 bottle beer
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon steak sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 3 pounds potato, peeled and quartered
- frozen peas
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together flour, salt and pepper. Dredge beef with mixture.
Heat 1/4 cup oil in frying ban and brown floured beef.
In sauce pan, heat thoroughly 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Add onion, garlic and cook until onion is transparent; Combine browned meat with onion and stir in beer, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce steak sauce, bay leaves and thyme.
Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is almost tender.
Add potatoes and simmer covered for an additional 20 minutes or until potatoes are partially cooked. Stir in some frozen peas. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until meat and vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaves before serving.
