Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • Batter:
  • 1 large can of peaches in light syrup (I prefer Freestone peaches) or 3 cups fresh peaches, sliced, boiled with 1 cup of sugar for 3-5 minutes
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 cup of milk

Preparation

Step 1

Melt ½ stick of butter in a baking dish. Pour the batter over the butter. Pour fruit and juice over the batter. Do not mix! Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When crust rises and starts to brown, sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of sugar and dot with butter- this is optional. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake another 10 to 30 minutes until done.
