Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbs. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup water
- Water and a thin batter seems to me to be the key factor in having a crispy crust.
- For sweet cornbread add 6 tbs. sugar.
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 450.
Mix all ingredients and pour into a cast iron pan or muffin pans that have been heated in hot oven with some oil.
