Grilled Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • lemon pepper, sprinkle
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 2 C boiling water
  • long chives for tying
  • 2 T prepared orange juice

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat lightly sprayed electric grill to medium-high. Combine olive oil, garlic and lemon pepper in small bowl.

Lay asparagus in boiling water in large saucepan. Cover,. Simmer gently for 3 minutes until bright green. Immediately plunge into ice water to cool.

Tie bundles of 3 spears around middle with chives. Place bundles on grill. Baste with olive oil mixture. Cook for 10 minutes, turning and basting several times, until tender-crisp. Remove to shallow serving dish. Drizzle with orange juice.
