Ingredients
- 1/2 cups unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups peeled, pitted and thinly sliced peaches (5-6 medium peaches)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Several dashes of cinnamon or nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pour melted butter into a 13 X 9 dish. Combine flour, i cup sugar and baking powder and salt. Mix well. Stir in milk until just combined. Pour batter over butter and DO NOT combine. In small saucepan, combine peaches, lemon juice and 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour peaches over batter in pan, but again, do not stir. Bake in preheated oven for 45-45 minutes or until golden brown.
