Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 egg whites
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 2 cube steaks
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning(optional)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup quartered button mushrooms
- 1 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Whisk together milk and egg whites in a shallow dish. Place 4 tablespoons flour in a separate dish. Season both sides of steaks with Cajun seasoning, if desired.
Dip steaks into milk mixture, then dredge both sides in flour.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet coated with nonstick spray over medium-high. Add steaks; cook to desired doneness, 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove steaks from skillet; tent with foil to keep warm.
Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to skillet. Add mushrooms; sauté until beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle remaining 1 tablespoon flour over mushrooms; cook one minute, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
Stir in ketchup and W-sauce. Add broth; bring mixture to a boil. Simmer sauce until reduced to 1 cup, about 5 minutes; season with salt and pepper.
Serve sauce over steaks.
