Ingredients
- 2 pounds top round steak, cubed or cut into strips
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 5 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. dried mustard
- 1 can beef consommé
- 7 ounce can mushrooms, with juice
- 1/4 cup chopped onions, optional
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup wine (red preferred, but white wine will work as well)
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in pan. Add flour and mustard. Add chopped onions if desired and sauté until tender. Add steak and cook until browned slightly. Add consommé and mushrooms. Simmer over low heat for one hour or until meat is tender. Add sour cream and wine just before serving. Serve over rice, noodles, toast, or potatoes.
