Toffee Apples

Smooth, decadent dip for fruit or pound cake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C butter
  • 2 C dark brown sugar
  • 1 C white corn syrup
  • 2 T water
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • grapefruit juice
  • apples, pears, bananas, pound cake

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in double boiler and add all other ingredients except vanilla. Stir until thickened, add vanilla and stir well. Put mixture in a chaffing dish or fondue pot. Serve with fruit and pound cake.

Sprinkle fruit with grapefruit juice to prevent browning.
