Ingredients
- 1 sweet onion
- 1 1/2 C. buttermilk
- 1/4 C. water
- 3/4 C. bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 C. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- Vegetable oil
Preparation
Step 1
Slice up the onions. Put them into a bowl. In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil. In another bowl, stir the flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper and salt.
Have the breadcrumbs on a large plate. Dip the onions into the buttermilk, flour mixture and breadcrumbs. Place them into the hot olive oil. Let them become golden brown. Drain them on a paper towel lined plate.
Serve and enjoy.
