Bavarian Apple Torte

Like a Cheesecake with A Cinnamon Apple Layer. This recipe is one of Mom's very old recipes and has not been tested. So bake times may not be exact.

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 1/2 C Butter
  • 1/3 C Sugar
  • 1/4 tea vanilla
  • 1 C flour
  • Cheese Layer
  • 1 8oz Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tea Vanilla
  • Apple Topping
  • 4 C Peeled, cored and Sliced Apples
  • 1/3 C sugar
  • 1/2 tea cinnamon
  • 1/2 C sliced Almonds

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare a springform pan, by greasing. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy add the vanilla and then add flower to form a batter. Spread into bottom of springform pan.

Mix soften cream cheese with sugar and vanilla. Beat in egg. Spread onto first layer..

Mix together sliced apples, almonds, sugar and cinnamon. Arrange apples on top of second layer.

Bake for 10 minutes in 450 degree oven then lower temperature to 425 for 25 minutes. Take out of oven cool completely and remove ring
