Ingredients
- 1 T olive oil
- 1 large white onion, thinly sliced
- 1 T sugar
- 1 lb green beans, trimmmed
- 1 t butter
- 1/4 t salt
- black pepper
- 2 T sliced almonds, toasted
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sugar. Cook, stirring frequently until onion is very tender and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, microwave green beans 5 minutes on high until tender crisp. Drain any accumulated moisture. Add green beans, butter, salt and pepper to the skillet. Cook, stirring until the beans are coated. Sprinkle with almonds just before serving.
