Italian Turkey Meatloaf Parmesan

Ingredients

  • 1 slice wheat bread
  • 2-3 T 1% milk
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/2 lb. turkey italian sausage links, casings removed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 C unseasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 C grated parmesan/romano cheese
  • 2 t italian seasoning
  • 2 t onion powder
  • 1.5 t granulated garlic
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl mash together the bread and milk until it forms a paste.
3. Next add in the ground turkey, italian sausage, eggs, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, italian seasoning, onion powder, granulated garlic, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup of the shredded mozz/provolone and 1 cup of the marinara sauce.
4. Mix all of the ingredients, using your hands, until everything is evenly distributed.
5. Spray a 7x11 or 9x11 baking dish with cooking spray. Place the meat mixture into the dish and form into a loaf.
6. Spread the remaining marinara sauce over the meatloaf.
7. Bake for 75 minutes.
8. Set oven to broil.
9. Sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheese over top and broil for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
10. Remove meatloaf from the oven, let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then serve.
