Pineapple Butter Sponge Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • .....................
  • 1-1/2 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • ...............................
  • 1/2 c. butter melted and cooled
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Beat the sugar and eggs until nice and thick.

Whisk cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a separate bowl, then add to the eggs and sugar just until combined.

Add butter, pineapple and nuts to mixture until just mixed.

Spread into shallow pan that has been sprayed with Pam spray. Place into preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut while warm.
