Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds apples per quart
- water
- sugar ( optional)
- for spiced applesauce add ground spices ( cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice) during last 5 minutes
Preparation
Step 1
wash apples, drain. Core peel and quarter apples. cook apples until soft with just enough water to prevent sticking. puree. return to pot. add 1/4 c sugar per pound of apples. Bring sauce to boil stir to prevent sticking. fill jars. process pints. and quarts 20 minutes
For chunky sauce puree half
