Sour Cream Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • frozen pie shell
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 2 lb Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 c flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 21/2 t cinnamon
  • 3/4 c walnuts, chopped
  • 6 T butter, chilled and cut into pieces

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, combine sour cream, egg, vanilla, sugar, salt and flour, stirring until well blended. Stir in apples. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 min. reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake an additional 30 min.

Combine all topping ingredients blending until mixture resembles coarse meal. Spoon onto pie and bake at 350 degrees an additional 15-20 min. until filling is bubbly.
