Slow Roast Pork Roast

Ingredients

  • In a large bowl mix:
  • 3 lb pork shoulder roast
  • 4 garlic cloves (cut into slices)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes(Optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Use a small knife to make slits all over the pork, put a garlic slice in each as you go.
Put the pork shoulder in the bowl and press the spices mixture all over the pork.

Put in slow cooker for 7 – 8 hours. I added some chicken broth for liquid and 1/2 of a yellow onion worth of onion slices.

I cooked it for the first 2 hours on low heat, the next 4 on high heat, pulled apart the meat with 2 forks, then left it on low heat for another hour or two.
